We just got Sarah's FZJ80 on Wed. Sept. 18, 2002. It is very nice and should live a comfortable life in the garage (until I can steal it and take it to the trail). I put a couple more pics at the bottom of the page.
This page is for furnishing information about my 1980 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. I bought the truck on March 1st, 2002 from a used auto dealer here in Utah. The dealership was called TLC AS. They "apparently" specialize in selling Land Cruisers, and have a number of parts trucks out back. When I bought the truck it had a bad valve. It had been 7-8 years since I had driven a cruiser, and that was my friends ?67? that probably had a lot of bad valves, so I really didn't notice that anything was wrong. It wasn't until I went out wheeling the first time and it had NO TORQUE that I knew something was wrong. I only paid $4500 for the truck, including the 8274 winch, so even with the $600 invested in the valve job (which turned out to be a cracked head as well) I still did OK on the deal.
Please excuse the simplicity of this page, I will work on the navigation when I have time. My lovely wife, my two great kids, my chiropractic practice, wheeling, wrenching, woodworking, the lawn, and my other two companies that I run, all put demands on my time, but I'll fit it in : )
For now enjoy some GREAT driveway pics, I will get better one's the second week in July when I go on my first outing with the Wasatch Cruisers up American Fork Canyon.
The Blazer next to the Cruiser is now SOLD.
Notice the plates.
Sorry I cut the nose off. Normal rust evident.
The one driving is my daughter. She LOVES the Land Cruisey!
